boost + brighten
This is what I call the “treatment” step, and what most of us forget to do! It’s important to not just cleanse and moisturize your skin—it’s essential to add a step in between that allows the use of antioxidants, retinoids, peptides, and alpha-hydroxy acids to help improve the texture, tone, fine lines, and discoloration. I see dramatic changes in my patients’ skin every day from use of products like these. Everyone should use a vitamin C serum or gel, a retinoid-containing product, and a glycolic or other alpha-hydroxy product in their regimen. Peptides are great too. There’s no right or wrong way, just get them on after cleansing—you can alternate them around if you want or adjust if you’re feeling a little dry. Just keep going and your skin should acclimate to it. And remember to moisturize after!
